The device can speak the translations aloud or display text on the built-in touchscreen, depending on the language.
Pocketalk translates speech into 82 languages, including 61 bilaterally, 21 voice-to-text bilaterally, and up to 37 more obscure languages voice-to-text unilaterally. In addition to translating the spoken word, Pocketalk also supports the translation of written text, such as what you would see on signs or menus. The built-in camera supports 55 different languages. You can either take a photo and have the translated text laid on top of the image, or Pocketalk can read the translated text aloud.
Cloud-Based Accuracy
The Pocketalk is engineered for accuracy based on proprietary Sourcenext technology and cloud-based algorithms. Therefore, Pocketalk requires an internet connection. You can use a 3G or 4G LTE nano SIM card or dual-band Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) to connect. A complimentary 2-year mobile data plan is included, which provides coverage in over 130 countries/regions.
