PGYTECH Landing Pad for Drones (29.5')

After flying my DJI Air2s a few times, it became obvious that without some sort of protective measures, taking off and landing on unprepared surfaces was going to eventually cause some damage to either the rotors or the camera. Even short grass with dew on it could be a problem for the camera lens. I evaluated landing gear extensions, but concluded that most of them are not long enough to do much good at all. This landing pad provides a clean surface for takeoff/landing, and will cover tall grass/weeds and eliminate the threat they pose in most cases. It has enough weight to stay in place and support the drone even when it is compressing weeds underneath it. In my brief experience, it does not need the anchor stakes most of the time, and if it is that windy, perhaps I should not be flying anyway. It folds much like a photographer's reflector, which takes some technique, but is easy to store and carry with me. The only real issue with it is that 29.5 is just a little too narrow. While I can land squarely on it most of the time, the software and sensors in the Air 2s will not allow the air vehicle to maneuver just a foot or two above the pad, and it will climb probably 3 feet every time I try to make fine adjustments forward, backward or sideways. So sometimes, it takes several attempts before I get in a position where I am comfortable commanding it to land. Obviously, landing even one of the legs of this drone off the pad risks damaging something. Bigger is probably better, if you are able to easily carry a larger pad. Overall, I think this pad is cheap insurance, and a much more practical solution to the Foreign Object Damage problem than landing gear extensions.

Folds compactly. Works well on beaches. Pegs are a bit flimsy, however, but can be cheaply replaced with stronger, metal tentpegs.
