When they say in the specifications plug and play they are not kidding. The Senal XU-2496-C XLR to USB-C Audio Interface made he happy the instant I plugged it in the computer. It was literally 20 seconds to plug everything up, cable-mic-interface-computer...done. This was a game changer for me especially when customers want to do quick ad videos in the studio that requires only 1 camera and an overhead mic on a background we have setup for that all the time. Before I had the Senal interface, I had to plug a mic on a mixer that I had which is also an audio interface, involving USBs, XLRs etc. ALL I need to do now is to simply plug in a single 20' long USBC cable (not included) with the shotgun mic already plugged into the XU-2496-C interface. It's so simple and easy!!! You can also plug an XLR cable and use the included velcro to secure it on a mic stand but you''l find that you don't need to. Just connect the mic directly to the XU-2496-C's XLR end, plus a USBC cable into your computer's USB port. I find amazing that I can have Phantom Power from the XU-2496-C out of a 5V USB port. Most mics I will be using are condenser mics. The audio is clean as expected from a digital device with zero background noise and it can go as high as 24bit 96kHz. I'm happy with 48kHz as it is best for internet content such as Youtube. Bur for audio narration, yes, go all the way up. If there is background noise, a slight hiss or anything related to that, it's your mic or cable. This device should provide you with clean audio even with consumer level microphones. Monitoring audio from the built in headphones is nice and with zero latency, which is critical for monitoring. This is great for all applications, Podcasts, streaming, singing, voiceovers. The headphone pre-amp in this unit is extremely loud, which can drive one of the most expensive impedance resistant headphones you may want to plug on that. What else could I want? I'm very pleased with this item. It simplified things a lot, and it is extremely portable. Most audio interfaces need something to power it first, plus having to plug mics with more cables...XLR. Not anymore for me. I am very confident, you will also experience the happiness I did with this item.
