Equip your Dante audio network with high-performance 24-bit / 192 kHz digital I/O with the Focusrite RedNet D16R MkII, a rackmount 16x16 Dante digital audio interface offering flexible sample rate conversion, adjustable levels, and comprehensive remote control options for professional engineers in every environment from broadcast and touring applications to the studio to the dub stage.
With two DB25 connectors providing 16 channels of AES3 digital audio to and from the Dante audio network, the D16R MkII is ideal for bridging between digital consoles, power amplifiers, external AD/DA converters, other AES3-equipped audio equipment, and any Dante network. Primary and secondary Dante connectivity is available on dual locking etherCON ports.
In addition to the main AES3 inputs and outputs, the RedNet D16R MkII features stereo S/PDIF I/O on RCA coaxial jacks and stereo AES3 I/O on XLR jacks. To allow synchronization with a wide range of external sources and hardware, the interface includes BNC wordclock input and output ports and support for DARS (Digital Audio Reference Signal) through the XLR input.
The RedNet D16R MkII is fitted with two separate power supplies with auto-switchover capability to maintain reliable operation in the event of a failure. Plus, locking IEC inlets on the rear of the unit prevent unintended power cable disconnection at the interface. Power-supply status is indicated both remotely and on the front panel. Additionally, the interface features a rugged, roadworthy exterior that occupies just 1 RU of rack space.
A premium bonus is the Brainworx bx_console Focusrite SC channel-strip plug-in, a stellar digital emulation of the legendary and rare Focusrite Studio Console. Only 10 of the consoles were ever produced, but you can access its famed sound directly in your DAW.
16x16 AES3 I/O with Independent Level Control
The RedNet D16R MkII is a 16-channel bidirectional AES3 interface for Dante networks. The 1 RU rackmount device features individual input and output channel level controls, allowing for precise calibration and control of all input and output levels using RedNet Control software.
Redundant Dante and Power
Featuring power supply and Ethernet redundancy with auto switchover, the RedNet D16R MkII can provide continued operation in the event of a failure at the main power and audio lines.
Flexible I/O
Various connection options make RedNet D16R MkII a flexible addition to any audio-over-IP system. A pair of DB25 multipin connectors (AES59 standard configuration) each connect eight channels of AES3 I/O into and out of the interface, while XLR and RCA ports enable two-channel AES3 and S/PDIF connections to be made.
Tight Synchronization
Sample rate conversion on every input enables external equipment to operate at different sample rates, and DARS signals are accepted on the XLR connector. Wordclock I/O on BNC connectors allows synchronization to a house clock or from external equipment to the Dante network.
Powerful Remote Control
The interface boasts full operability with Focusrite RedNet and Red interfaces, plus all Dante devices from hundreds of manufacturers. Take advantage of remote routing and control using RedNet Control and Dante Controller software on a Mac or Windows computer.
Informative Indicators
LED indicators are presented on the front panel for PSU, network, sample rate, signal presence, and clock source status, keeping you informed of the interface s critical functions at a glance.
