The WM-1D plugs into an available USB Type-A port on your computer and is used in conjunction with a WM-1 adapter connected to the 5-pin DIN MIDI ports on your keyboard, controller, or drum machine. In Standard mode, you can connect up to 4 devices, but the latency will range from 7.5 ms up to 15 ms, which may create timing issues. For a more responsive playing feel, the Fast mode lowers the latency to 3ms, but this limits you to connecting only two devices.

Simply plug it into an open USB port for smooth and responsive communication with any instrument or device in your WM wireless system. Mac computers and iOS devices can communicate with a WM-series unit in Standard mode over Bluetooth MIDI, but if you need the benefits of Fast mode, or want to connect multiple computers wirelessly, just plug in a WM-1D.
