Add the sound of vintage analog warmth to your digital productions with the Boutique Studio Plug-In Bundle from AUDIFIED. AUDIFIED 1A Equalizer Tube EQ Plug-In Software

The 1A Equalizer from Audified is software for your macOS or Windows machine that adds tube-based EQ to your audio. Audified has combined vintage tube schematics and modern technology to create this 1A equalizer. It features M/S (mid/side) processing, that separates your audio into mid and side components, allowing you to mix the edges of the stereo signal, while separately sculpting the center. The software also allows you to boost your lows and attenuate your highs, and an analog-style meter shows you your total harmonic distortion.

AUDIFIED U78 Saturator - Harmonic Distortion Plug-In for Grit in Pro Audio Mixing (Download)

Available for download, the Audified U78 is a saturator plug-in that models the same circuitry as the company s U73b (an emulation of a vintage vari-mu dynamics processor), but places its emphasis more on distortion/saturation than compression. With its gain and filter controls, the U78 is suitable for adding dirt to strings and string-sections, crunch to claps, and grit to kicks. Also suitable for aggressive vocal processing, the plug-in provides a tone control which helps with the overall dark/bright balance. A mix knob lets you blend the effect in with the dry signal, mitigating any possible phase issues that might occur if blending the effect together across two different tracks.

The low-pass filter gives you a range of 1 to 8 kHz, while the high-pass filter starts at 30 Hz and goes up to 800 Hz. Both filters come before the saturation circuit. The plug-in is loaded with presets programmed by Baby Brown and Boris Carloff.

The U78 Saturator uses iLok protection, so you will need an iLok account and the License Manager to authorize the product. The physical iLok itself is not necessary, only PACE s licensing software. This plug-in is compatible with both Mac and Windows computers. It will work in AAX, VST, and AU formats.

AUDIFIED U73B Compressor Audio Plug-In

The AUDIFIED U73B Compressor Plug-In is a faithful emulation of the well-known German broadcast compressor/limiter unit U73b. Use this plug-in on your Mac or Windows machine to gain precise control over your audio s dynamics, imparting controllable vintage character to your production. Like the original hardware unit, this plug-in allows you to switch between limiter and compressor. Pro-grade presets such as Warm Vocal, Punchy Drums, and Smooth Bass, enable you to find the right level, quickly and easily.

AUDIFIED RZ062 Equalizer Audio Plug-In

Available for download, the AUDIFIED RZ062 is an emulation of two rare vintage equalizers used throughout Europe in the 1960s: the Klangfilm RZ062a valve EQ, and its sibling, the RZ062b. Both EQs sport controls to adjust bass and treble, giving you the power to boost and attenuate the lows and highs. Each plug-in also provides input and output knobs as well as a calibration section for tailoring the harmonic saturation. On stereo sources, you can stereo-link the EQ or manipulate the EQ signal in mid-side mode, which comes in handy during mastering. These plug-ins are compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems and operate in AU, VST3, and AAX formats. The product is iLok protected, but a hardware key is not necessary, only the free iLok License Manager is required.

Two EQ Options with Different Midrange Controls

Where each of the plug-ins differ is in their midrange control. The midrange knob on the RZ062a pivots the entire frequency response around the preset midrange curve, which is centered on 650 Hz. As a result, this knob simultaneously lowers the bottom end as it raises the treble, and vice versa. On the RZ062b, you ll find four selectable frequency centers, and the ability to boost or cut their presence in a smooth, pleasing manner.

Subtly Different Flavors

As these plug-ins were modeled on two separate hardware units, they do have subtly different flavors. Even when set to unity gain, they do not pass null tests at identical settings on identical mixes. In other words, this is to your benefit. Even though these EQs ostensibly share everything besides the midrange controls, their minute differences, borne from careful modeling and sampling of independent units in their construction, essentially give you two EQs in one package. You can use this to your advantage when mixing tracks, even when you re only making use of the highs and the lows, because slight tonal variances from the circuit modeling help replicate the subtle nonlinearity of analog hardware.
