The Novachord + Solovox from Cherry Audio is a collection of two individual instruments provided as separate downloads that install as both standard DAW/host plug-ins and standalone programs. The Novachord plug-in recreates the sound of the electronic instrument that featured 163 vacuum tubes and was manufacturered from 1937 to 1942. The Solovox plug-in recreates the sound of the original Solovox, which was a small monophonic keyboard instrument that attached beneath a piano keyboard in order to add organ-type lead voices. The Solovox was used from the 1940s to the 1960s, producing string, woodwind, and organ sounds, until transistors gained favor over tubes.
