FLUX PURE DEXPANDER Overview

Restore the original dynamics of audio material with Pure DExpander from FLUX, an expander and dynamics processor plug-in designed to carefully restore the organic character of audio. By intensifying sound energy below the threshold, you can restore natural dynamics to heavily compressed audio for a louder signal without harshness.

Pure DExpander provides 16 channels of I/O, with each channel sporting a large ± 48 dB of headroom for very wide dynamics. Basic key control features include a Dry/Wet control for parallel compression, a true discrete peak limiter, and selection of Manual, Auto, and Advanced release modes. A side-chain section with 3-band EQ lets you selectively expand audio content across the full frequency spectrum, while the mid-side encoder/decoder allows you to individually process the mid and side material to increase or decrease stereo width. This plug-in is available for macOS and Windows computers in AAX native, AAX DSP, AU, and VST formats.

Full Control over Processing

In addition to the common controls on a dynamics processor (ratio, attack, release), Pure DExpander offers control over the fundamental characteristics of the dynamics processing:

• Extended envelope settings with full control of Attack, Hold, and Release, with Manual, Auto, and Advanced Release modes
• Zero attack time dynamics processing, generated by a delay, reflecting the attack into the signal path
• Eight different detection modes interacting with the time and envelope settings
• Dynamic Factor amplified or diminishes the extracted real-time dynamics information

Open Up the Sound

• Dynamics Ratio controls the auto ratio determined by the signal dynamics, literally opening up the sound and increasing the dynamic impression
• Level Independent Detection (LID) controls the amount of auto threshold determined by the signal dynamics and manual threshold value
• Maximum mode can be engaged from the LID control, allowing for processing that accounts for the maximum values of both standard and LID detection schemes

Control the Stereo Width of Your Mix

To control the actual Stereo width of the mix, a built-in mid-side (M/S) encoder/decoder is used to split the stereo-signal into its mid and side components in order to control the actual stereo width of the mix.

• The M/S width control sets the stereo width of the processed signal with a maximum range of ± 6 dB
• M/S mode control enables one M/S encoding matrix on the input and one M/S decoding matrix at the output, creating a side-chain that is fed by the M/S encoded signal

Individual Multichannel Processing

Up to sixteen channels of simultaneous processing for multichannel surround configuration is provided. The processing can be disengaged on any of the channels leaving the material unprocessed and bypassing the original sound.

When operating on a multichannel bus, up to sixteen channels are processed by default, though the processing can be disengaged for any number of channels, leaving the material unprocessed and bypassing the original sound. By doing this in combination with serial instances, the material on any number of channels can be processed with individual settings.

Dual Preset Slots and Parameter Morphing

The built-in preset manager and preset morphing slider provide instant and intuitive control of all parameters and controls. With simple one-click operation, everything is copied from one of the two preset slots to the other, even during playback.

The two Preset/Parameter slots, A and B, can be loaded with two full sets of parameters at the same time, and the morphing slider will allow you to mix them. You can record the morph with automation.
