Vienna Symphonic Library Big Bang Orchestra: Altair Section Essentials is a sample-based virtual instrument featuring carefully crafted recordings of orchestral sections as well as full tutti orchestra recordings. The instrument offers multiple articulations and various registrations for greater expressiveness and sonic flexibility. The software is compatible with Mac and Windows and operates in AU, VST, and AAX formats. Altair integrates perfectly with every module in the BBO series.

A Perfect Enhancement

• Big Bang Orchestra: Altair presents a different take on the Synchron full orchestra recordings and is the perfect enhancement to the tutti performances of Big Bang Orchestra: Andromeda.
• BBO: Altair provides completely new recordings of short and long notes that are played by the individual sections of the orchestra, as well as by all of them together (tutti).

Meticulously Recorded

• The appeal of this BBO Pack lies in the particular way the tutti performances and the sections of strings, woodwinds, and brass were recorded.
• In the first pass, each note was played by the entire orchestra. Immediately afterwards, each section played this note with the same phrasing and style.
• It s as though the entire orchestra played the notes together, but in fact they didn t you have separate recordings of strings, woodwinds, and brass ensembles available that you can combine and orchestrate any way you like.

Registrations and Articulations

• You can easily switch between the various registrations in the Vienna Synchron Player that offers the tutti patch and the individual patches of strings, woodwinds, and brass, as well as combinations of strings/woodwinds, strings/brass, and woodwinds/brass.
• They all mix and match perfectly, and with the corresponding mixer presets they also blend seamlessly with the performances of BBO: Andromeda, as well as all the other Big Bang Orchestra Packs.

Modify Your Sound with the Included Synchron Player

• The section microphones can be independently adjusted in the integrated mixer of the Synchron Player, allowing you to emphasize the power of certain sections and giving you more freedom to modify your overall string sound.
• Six levels of reverberation and additional processed presets are offered for each microphone setup: Close, Classic, Wide, Distant, Ambient, and Wet.
• Change the level, panning, delay, and channel-EQ settings for each channel. You can also insert any of the built-in FX plug-ins to further optimize your sound.

Room Microphones Presets

• Room Mix Presets: Based on a room mix created from all available room microphones
• Stereo Decca Tree Presets: The Decca Tree is the microphone tree that is the heart and soul of every orchestral recording. It consists of a main stereo channel and a mono center channel, which capture the details of the room from the conductor s perspective
• Surround-to-Stereo Presets: Offer the massive sound of all available room microphones including the Decca Tree mics down-mixed to a stereo signal
• Surround Presets: With your Synchron Player inserted as a surround plug-in in your DAW, these presets provide the starting point for your surround setup
• Processed Presets: The presets use the integrated compressor to achieve an even more powerful sound of the Big Bang Orchestra. Feel free to add more FX as you create the symphonic sound you desire.
