ILIO VSLSYT29 Overview
Vienna Symphonic Library Big Bang Orchestra: Hercules is a virtual instrument with a library comprising an ensemble of 4 bass trombones, 1 bass tuba, and 1 contrabass tuba playing at Synchron Stage A Vienna. A perfect complement to Big Bang Orchestra: Jupiter, Izar, and Kopernikus brass ensembles, this library expands the series with low brass sounds, ideal for creating ominous pianissimos and dramatic fortississimos effortlessly right out of the box, and great for authentic film and game scoring, trailer music, or sound design.
Big Bang Orchestra: Hercules includes a rich set of articulations, with up to five velocity layers, variations of short notes, marcatos, real legatos, several dynamic articulations (sfz, sffz, various crescendos and decrescendos), flutter tonguing, trills, glissandos, and fast repetitions. For long notes, you can choose whether to use an additional fff layer. The contrabass tuba plays an octave below the other instruments and can be individually turned on or off.
All six musicians performed together and were recorded with an array of microphones including individual close mics for each instrument, mid mics, Decca tree (left-center-right), surround, and high-surround outriggers. This gives you more control and more creative options when mixing your sound using the included Synchron Player s internal mixer.
The software is compatible with Mac and Windows. It runs as standalone software or operates in AU, VST, and AAX formats. Big Bang Orchestra: Hercules can be combined with the tutti recordings of the Big Bang Orchestra to create an even brassier orchestral sound. It also integrates seamlessly with every module in the Big Bang Orchestra series.
Note:
Software requires an iLok account.

Modify Your Sound with the Included Synchron Player
Six levels of reverberation and additional processed presets are offered for each microphone setup: Close, Classic, Wide, Distant, Ambient, and Wet.
Factory Mixer presets are based on the room microphones, leaving the individual section microphones disabled. Section microphones can be added to emphasize certain instrument groups.
Change the level, panning, delay, and channel EQ settings for each channel. You can insert any of the built-in FX plug-ins to further optimize your sound.
Room Microphones Presets
Room Mix Presets: Based on a room mix created from all available room microphones.
Stereo Decca Tree Presets: The Decca Tree is the microphone tree that is the heart and soul of every orchestral recording. It consists of a main stereo channel and a mono center channel, which capture the details of the room from the conductor s perspective.
Surround-to-Stereo Presets: Offer the massive sound of all available room microphones, including the Decca Tree mics down-mixed to a stereo signal.
Surround Presets: With your Synchron Player inserted as a surround plug-in in your DAW, these presets provide the starting point for your surround setup.
Processed Presets: Use the integrated compressor to achieve an even more powerful sound with presets such as Compressed, Sparkling, Distorted Delays, and more.
