Vienna Symphonic Library Big Bang Orchestra: Ymir is a virtual instrument with a library consisting of 24 children between the age of 8 and 14 singing together at Synchron Stage Vienna. The children are members of the the internationally acclaimed Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen children s choir, famous for performing at the Christmas in Vienna concerts, as well as on countless music and film score recordings.

The children sang the vowels AA and UU as sustains and legatos, as well as humming MM. Attack consonants include L, B, and N. A perfect complement to the BBO: Ganymede Choirs, this library is ideal for adding angelic and pure vocal sounds to film and game scores, trailer music, and sound design.

In addition to overhead microphones, Decca Tree, and surround mics, the front row and back row were captured with with close microphones during the recording sessions. This gives you more control and more creative options when mixing your sound using the included Synchron Player s internal mixer.

The software is compatible with Mac and Windows. It runs in standalone or operates within AU, VST, and AAX formats. BBO: Ymir integrates perfectly with every module in the BBO series.

Modify Your Overall Choir Sound

• The close-mic section microphones can be independently adjusted in the integrated mixer of the Synchron Player, giving you more freedom to modify your overall choral sound.
• Six levels of reverberation and additional processed presets are offered for each microphone setup: Close, Classic, Wide, Distant, Ambient, and Wet.
• Change the level, panning, delay, and channel EQ settings for each channel. You can also insert any of the built-in FX plug-ins to further optimize your sound.

Mixer Presets

Factory mixer presets are based on the room microphones, leaving the section microphones disabled. Section microphones can be added to emphasize certain instrument groups.

• Room Mix Presets: Based on a room mix created from all available room microphones.
• Stereo Decca Tree Presets: The Decca Tree is the microphone tree that is the heart and soul of every orchestral recording. It consists of a main stereo channel and a mono center channel, which capture the details of the room from the conductor s perspective.
• Surround-to-Stereo Presets: Offer the massive sound of all available room microphones including the Decca Tree mics downmixed to a stereo signal.
• Surround Presets: With your Synchron Player inserted as a surround plug-in in your DAW, these presets provide the starting point for your surround setup.
• Processed Presets: Use the integrated compressor, power panning, delays, additional reverb, phasers, and more to create your desired sound.
