ILIO VSLSYT3D Overview
Vienna Symphonic Library Big Bang Orchestra: Zodiac is a virtual instrument with a library consisting of 30 first violins, 26 second violins, 20 violas, 22 cellos, 14 basses, 12 horns, and 9 trombones playing at Synchron Stage Vienna. With a total of 112 players, the five string ensembles deliver an especially lush and smooth sound that adds a beautiful warmth to your tracks. The horns and trombones ensembles offer round and somber tones at lower volume, and powerful, blaring fortefortissimo at full volume. The massive sound of these seven ensembles makes for a bold statement that elevates and enriches your arrangements with epic breadth and power right out of the box ideal for authentic film and game scoring, trailer music, or sound design.
BBO: Zodiac offers combinations of several individual sections within a single preset, even with polyphonic legato. The All Strings preset features all five string sections playing together, either with the original voicing layered over a six-octave span, or with condensed voicing over a four octave span. Octave combinations provide two ensembles playing in octaves, such as first and second violins, violas and cellos, cellos and basses, and more. The Epic Legato Combo preset features the horn, viola, and cello sections with two additional clarinets, all performing legatos together. The exceptionally broad and smooth blend of these specific ensembles as well as the live character of the note transitions makes this patch excel at epic melodies.
Articulations of the string ensembles include short notes (bold and agile), long notes, and legatos, with regular and soft releases played by the musicians to create beautifully articulated note fade-outs, sforzato, sforzatissimo, and tremolos. Additional articulations of the brass patches include a separately available blaring fortefortissimo layer, short and long swells, as well as fast and slow horn rips.
Each ensemble was recorded separately with a multitude of close and mid microphones, Decca Tree, as well as surround and high surround mics. The included Synchron Player offers a variety of presets that combine the various microphone signals, allowing you to adjust the violin s sound to your liking. Surround presets are included for immersive audio setups such as Dolby Atmos and Auro-3D.
The software is compatible with Mac and Windows. It runs as standalone software or operates in AU, VST, and AAX formats. Big Bang Orchestra: Zodiac integrates seamlessly with every module in the Big Bang Orchestra series.
