I bought this memory to pair with the MSI z790 Tomahawk Max Wifi board in a Lian Li O11 Dynamic Evo case. The build was easy and the RGB lighting was controllable through the MSI Center Mystic Lighting feature. I enabled the XMP profile in the BIOS and all seemed fine. Benchmarks and memory tests gave excellent results. Everything seemed to be going quite well until two days ago.It started when I powered up the system. The boot took longer than normal, and I noticed the board was running the typical memory tests it does when trying to establish the memory timings. (Red light, then orange back and forth a few times). I didn't think much of it as the system booted just fine. Next time, however, it didn't.When I powered it on, I got a POST failure message saying the memory OC failed. I went into the BIOS, made sure the XMP profile was enabled, then decided to manually enter the timings from the product specifications instead of relying on auto. Saved and rebooted. Same series of memory tests ran and eventually passed and loaded into Windows. I thought it was fixed.Turns out, I was wrong. When I powered up today, I got the same memory OC failed message. This time, I couldn't get it to load the XMP profile at all. I turned off XMP and it did eventually load into Windows. However, I noticed that one of the sticks was stuck on the Rainbow lighting pattern, while the other was properly running the Meteor I had set. Going into MSI Center to change it and nothing. I powered down and back on. Same thing. I reseated the RAM. No change. I swapped slots and the same stick (now in the new slot) exhibited the same behavior.For fun, I pulled that stick out of my system and rebooted. Loaded into Windows 11 immediately. I rebooted, went into BIOS and turned on XMP again. Rebooted and loaded into Windows immediately. I then took out that working stick, put the troubled one back into the system... and got the same failure message. I couldn't load any XMP profile.I am not running this PC very hard. I game maybe a couple hours a day on it. I process some astrophotography image data sets. I ran some benchmarks when I first built it. Vast majority of the time, the PC is sitting idle. Oh, and it is extremely well cooled. I have a Kraken Elite 360 AIO for the CPU and I've got 10 Lian Li SL120v2 fans (replaced the stock Kraken fans with the Lian Li) setup as 3 intake on the bottom, 3 intake on the side, 3 exhaust out the top and 1 exhaust out the back.Very sad that this kit failed in less than 60 days from purchase.
