HighPoint 6661A-NVMe Overview

Connect additional Thunderbolt 3 peripherals and NVMe M.2 RAID storage to your compatible Windows or Mac system using the RocketStor 6661A-NVMe Thunderbolt 3 to NVMe RAID Adapter from HighPoint. This adapter is equipped with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, which provide bi-directional speeds of 40 Gb/s. While one port is used to interface with your host system, the other can be used to daisy-chain up to six devices together, including dual 4K displays or a single 5K display, thanks to support for DisplayPort 1.2. Thunderbolt 3 also supports 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C and provides 15W of power to compatible devices for charging.

In addition to the Thunderbolt 3 ports, the RocketStor 6661A-NVMe has four NVMe M.2 ports, each of which supports one SSD. Overall, up to 8TB of storage is supported, or 2TB per port, along with data transfer speeds of 2800 MB/s and RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 configurations. Each RAID configuration provides speed, redundancy, or a combination of both, and for those who do not need the benefits of a RAID, single drive configurations are also available.

HighPoint`s RocketStor 6661A-NVMe Thunderbolt 3 to NVMe RAID Adapter is compatible with Thunderbolt 2 devices, as well as USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB 3.1). Please be aware that any daisy-chain connections will terminate if a peripheral or device is connected via USB Type-C. Included is a Thunderbolt 3 cable, a 60W / 100-240 VAC external power supply, and a power cord. Protection is provided by a limited 1-year parts & labor warranty.

General Features

Compact and Portable NVMe RAID Storage for Thunderbolt 3

The RocketStor 6661A-NVMe allows you to add NVMe RAID storage to most Thunderbolt 3 Windows platforms. Each RocketStor 6661A-NVMe solution supports up to four M.2 SSDs in RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and single-drive configurations, and can deliver up to 2800 MB/s of transfer performance, which is well-suited for professional media applications that require maximum sustained read and write speeds.

Designed for Thunderbolt 3 Windows and Mac Systems

Like other HighPoint Thunderbolt 3 I/O solutions, the RocketStor 6661A-NVMe was designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind. The slim enclosure includes a pre-installed NVMe RAID controller, which can be quickly accessed via quick-release thumbscrews. The RAID controller supports up to four M.2 SSDs and 8TB of storage. SSDs can be added via a user-friendly installation.

Quadruples NVMe Storage Capacity

Unlike most NVMe solutions, which tie a single SSD to a PCIe module, the RS6661A-NVMe supports up to four individual M.2 SSDs and up to 8TB of total storage. Each SSD can be configured to operate independently or as part of a RAID 0, 1, 5, or 10 array. The RocketStor 6661A-NVMe has been qualified with a wide range of NVMe SSD`s, including Samsung`s 2TB 960 Pro Series.

HighPoint NVMe Manager with Integrated TRIM & SMART Monitoring

The RocketStor 6661A-NVMe includes HighPoint`s NVMe Manager interface, which allows users of most experience levels to quickly configure the M.2 SSDs into RAID arrays or as stand-alone drives. TRIM support promotes the longevity and endurance of each SSD, while SMART monitoring allows customers to keep close tabs on the physical attributes of each device, including temperature readings, total bytes written, and disk usage values, plus essential tools for planning, configuring, and maintaining mission critical SSD storage. Quick Configuration menus allow new users to get everything up and running with a few simple clicks. In depth, Advanced Options allow experienced professionals to fine tune SSD module configurations for specific applications.
