ASUS Republic of Gamers RYUJIN III 360 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler

Was waiting for this for a long time - looks great, nice big LCD, 8th gen pump... Well, after using it a week, it's going back. It does one thing well - cool the cpu. Everything else about it is not good. Pro: Performance wise, it keeps my 13600k about 3-5c lower than my Kraken Z did. It looks pretty cool. It's HUGE - height wise. It's partly because the LCD is basically a giant cap for the actual cooler. Pro: Installation was easy. Standard AIO bracketing, two cables - one to usb header and one to board fan power. Con: The tubes to the radiator are SHORT. Shorter than any other AIO I have used it seems. They are taut just going to the top mount position in my case. I can rotate the cooler, but that gives maybe another inch or two. These tubes should be at least 2in longer. Con: The LCD software is terrible. The options for what you can do on the lcd are super limited. Can't even resize the basic text. No overlays, a few limited ROG branded and ugly backgrounds. The time function is the time over a garish ROG logo - that's it. Horrible, lazy implementation. Con: Constantly loses the ability to monitor my GPU. Works one min, stops for a while, starts again. ASUS GPU, motherboard, cooler, software... should have zero issues. Does not pick up the GPU for fan control either. NZXT never had an issue with this, the software from the manufacturer should run just as well, one would think. Con: Installing AISuite3 lets Armourycrate see the GPU. It also then overclocks everything and overrides the fan curves set in AC. It also bluescreens the machine - which is why I don't use it. Major con to need this to see the GPU specs consistently at the cost of crashing the pc. Conclusion: Overall, it does one thing well - cool the cpu. However, for the price and the LCD, that's a poor reason to pay so much. You can spend hundreds less for similar performance. I am returning this and putting my Kraken Z back on until I find something better than this. Really disappointing. ASUS has been getting lax as a company on their software side, and this really shows it. I've been a fan of theirs for years, but the last couple of hardware/software cycles have really dented that reputation with me.
