The B660 chipset and LGA 1700 CPU socket work together to provide enhanced speeds with PCIe 5.0 capabilities, boosting the overall performance of your system. Four SATA III ports and three M.2 storage connectors allow you to equip your system with an array of high-speed drives, ideal for large files. Four dual-channel DDR4 RAM slots allow you to install a maximum of 128GB of system memory, essential for rendering video content. One PCIe 5.0 x16 expansion slot allows you to install a high-end graphics card to streamline your creation process while PCIe 3.0 x16 and PCIe 3.0 x1 slots allow you to install other expansion cards. An internal Thunderbolt 4 header supports an optional Thunderbolt 4 expansion card. Connection to a network is available thanks to two Ethernet ports providing 2.5 and 1 Gb speeds. The back I/O panel features a USB Type-C port which delivers transfer speeds of up to 10 Gb/s, and it supports an alternate mode that provides DisplayPort 1.4 output for up to 8K resolution at 60 Hz. USB 3.2 Gen 2x2

A USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 connector boosts Type-C data transfers with speeds of up to 20 Gb/s. The connector also features Quick Charge 4+ technology that can quickly charge devices up to 60 W with a PCIe power supply cable into the nearby 6-pin connector.

Thunderbolt 4

The ProArt B660-Creator D4 features Thunderbolt 4 support via an on-board header. Thunderbolt 4 is capable of delivering up to 40 Gb/s bidirectional bandwidth, essential for resource-demanding peripherals. Thunderbolt 4 ports also support video output with 4K resolution for dual displays or 8K resolution for a single display.

Networking

Dual Ethernet ports provide fast data transfers simultaneously for internet and for local network-attached storage (NAS), allowing for improved data organization and security. The 2.5Gb Ethernet port provides faster data transfers and smooth high-resolution video streaming.

Sporting an optimized power design layout, the ProArt features robust power delivery consisting of alloy chokes and durable capacitors which are designed to resist extreme temperatures. Digi+ VRM and 12+1 power stages combine high- and low-side MOSFETs and drivers into a single package designed to deliver efficiency demanded by the 12th Generation of Intel processors. The ProCool II socket ensures flush contact between power connectors and PSU lines, enhancing heat dissipation and providing lower electrical impedance.

PCIe 5.0 Ready

The 12th Gen Intel processors bring PCIe 5.0 support to the market. PCIe 5.0 offers twice the data transfer speed of PCIe 4.0, making it robust enough to handle new data-heavy tasks. PCIe 5.0 also brings other benefits, such as improved signal integrity, backward-compatible CEM connectors for add-in cards, and backwards compatibility with previous PCIe versions.

Heatsinks

Designed to reduce heat buildup, the ProArt features two VRM heatsinks that are placed above the MOSFETs and chokes to further increase surface area for heat dissipation. A dedicated chipset heatsink draws heat away to help ensure that temperatures stay within an optimal range, and two M.2 heatsinks cover three M.2 slots to keep M.2 SSDs at the optimal operating temperature for consistent performance and reliability.
