Lenovo ThinkStation PX Overview

Co-designed with Aston Martin, the Lenovo ThinkStation PX Tower Workstation features an iconic, modular build that offers a plethora of expansion options. Comprising a stylish chassis with red components, an enhanced thermal architecture for maximum performance, and rack-optimization flexibility, the PX is the pinnacle of Lenovo workstation technology.

The ThinkStation PX can support up to two Intel Xeon scalable dual processors and up to four AI-enabled NVIDIA RTX dedicated graphics cards (sold separately). With additional expansion slots for RAM, storage, and PCIe, this workstation goes beyond the limits of desktop performance to power even the most extreme workflows. From real-time rendering and virtual production to machine and deep learning to powering virtual workstations and metaverse exploration, the ThinkStation PX enables professionals across any industry to improve and expand their workflows. And with an extensive list of ISV-certified applications, the ThinkStation PX ensures that your complex projects are handled with ease.

Performance

The system houses an Intel Xeon Silver 4410Y processor. It features a stock speed of 2.0 GHz and can be boosted up to 3.9 GHz. The ThinkStation PX also has space to support a second processor (sold separately).

Dedicated NVIDIA RTX A2000 Graphics

Featuring a low-profile design, the dedicated NVIDIA RTX A2000 graphics card helps to significantly reduce video and rendering tasks with 12GB of GDDR6 RAM and support for PCIe Gen 4 bandwidth. The four mini DisplayPort 1.4 outputs support a maximum resolution of 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz, delivering sharp, clear images. Additional features include real-time ray tracing for realistic lighting, reflections, and shadows. AI-enhanced neural filters accelerate Adobe Photoshop AI tools such as Skin Smoothing and Smart Portrait to create stunning photos.

Expansion Options

The ThinkStation PX offers a variety of expansion options. There are 16 DDR5 DIMM slots, allowing for up to 2TB of memory. There are also seven M.2 slots, three onboard and four via the front access M.2 bay. Each M.2 slot supports up to a 4TB SSD. There are also four 3.5" internal drive bays, and each supports a 12TB 3.5" hard drive. There are also nine PCIe slots that allow for system expansion.

Connectivity

With plenty of USB-A ports, the ThinkStation PX allows you to connect compatible peripherals and accessories. There is also a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 port. For internet connectivity, the ThinkStation PX features both a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 LAN jack and a 10 GbE RJ45 LAN jack.

Security and Privacy

The ThinkStation PX offers a discrete TPM 2.0 security chip. It also features a variety of physical security options, such as an access panel lock kit with a common key, front storage bay lock with a common key, and a Kensington lock slot. There is also a cover lock and a chassis intrusion switch to prevent unauthorized access.

Windows 11 Pro

Microsoft simplified the design and user experience with Windows 11. It has a modern, clean design with a new Start Menu position. Snap Layouts, Groups, and Desktops allow you to multitask with ease. Microsoft has also integrated some of their apps, such as Microsoft Teams. The redesigned Microsoft Store makes it easier to look for supported apps. The Pro version of Windows 11 includes all the features that Windows 11 Home offers plus many designed specifically for business users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access.
