While each of these products may be bus powered, not all systems are able to provide the necessary amount of bus power. Also, some older 2.5 drives require more power than a USB or FireWire port is able to provide. Users may also purchase this just to keep an extra power adapter on hand, should an occasion arise. While some models of the Guardian MAXimus mini are factory equipped with a 2Apower adapter, this unit supplies plenty of power for normal use.
The Mercury Elite Dual Mini Power Adapter operates using 100-240 VAC @ 50-60 Hz and 0.8A. It outputs +12 VDC / 1.5Aand is protected by a limited 1-year warranty.
