ASUS G18 18" Overview

NVIDIA Advanced Optimus

With NVIDIA Advanced Optimus, the laptop can automatically route frames from the discrete GPU directly to the display using a MUX switch, bypassing the integrated graphics. This can improve performance by 5 to 10% compared to machines without a MUX Switch, This automatic switching also preserves your machine's battery life, as it can dynamically transition between the high power discrete GPU and the lower power integrated GPU.

ROG Nebula Display

The Pantone Validated 18" IPS panel delivers rich details with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut and Dolby Vision high-dynamic range support, making it ideal for both playing games and creating high-quality content. The 240 Hz refresh rate with 3ms response time and Adaptive-Sync support significantly reduce motion blur for liquid-smooth visuals during fast-action sequences.

ROG Intelligent Cooling

To accommodate its powerful components, the Strix G18's chassis and motherboard were redesigned to accommodate a full-width heat sink, whose fins were moved even closer to the exhaust vents for more efficient cooling. The full-width heat sink is built from three different sections, surrounding the motherboard with densely-packed fins for a 92% total surface area increase from the Strix G17. This design maximizes the available pathing for hot air to escape the machine and drastically increases overall airflow. A triple fan system, paired with seven heatpipes and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU help to ensure optimal performance under heavy workloads.

NVIDIA G-Sync

Reduce screen tearing with NVIDIA G-Sync Technology. G-Sync enables the monitor to dynamically adjust its refresh rate to the frame rate being output by the graphics card, thereby greatly reducing screen tearing, stuttering, and other artifacts.

Thunderbolt 4

Thunderbolt 4 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB-C connector and features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB4 up to 20 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort allows you to connect either one 8K monitor or up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 4 port.
