Acer CB2 Series CB272U smiiprx 27' 16:9 HDR FreeSync IPS Monitor

I bought two of these monitor's for my mom for .180 each. While one of the boxes appears to have taken some damage during shipping, the packing was sufficient to protect the monitor. I am incredibly happy with the picture quality for the price I paid these monitors. If you're looking for a well priced 27 2K monitor and you don't need high refresh rate for gaming, this is it. I did encounter an issue with these monitors for the first several days that was very frustrating. The monitors were connected via DisplayPort cables and not waking from sleep properly. Installing the latest display drivers seemed to fix the issue but the problem did end up returning. To fix the issue, I had to change the default input to DP and change the profile from ECO to HDR. You may also have to change the Auto Input option on the monitor to Off, but I was able to turn that back to On and still get properly waking displays after adjusting the other two settings. It was a little annoying to do this as the built in monitor menu does not fully function unless it's actually displaying something from an input.

I'll start with the minor annoyance: there are 8 selectable user modes. several of these modes hove a poorly implemented dimming feature, which I cannot find how to disable. It INCREASES the brightness on a bright scene, ramped up slowly, and notchy and DECREASES brightness slowly, and notchy on a dark scene, takes about a full second to ramp up or down. I think this is how they claim a higher contrast rating. It's very noticeable and annoying, but if you select User or Darkroom or HDR then it is disabled. Quite an improvement over a 1080p business class 27 that I was happy with in the past. The 75HZ refresh is def an improvement while scrolling text. vivid colors, nice contrast, havent even the speakers and dont care to. I bought a used 9 star condition model and not dissapointed and saved .40 on an already great price. Very bright for my room for youtube videos and web browsing. Game mode super bright. I havent tried games on it yet but I dont game much. I keep the brightness between 12 and 30 out of 100. Yes, the stand does allow vertical viewing if needed, just tilt the screen up and then rotate.

admittedly I have only had this a couple weeks. I was coming from a 4K 32 monitor that was just too much for my desk, so yes I did notice some image differences. No it is not an extremely nice 27 monitor. Yes it is a very good 27 monitor. It is also .180 with QHD and relatively high refresh rate/response time. I can easily read/see/watch video whatever I need. I'm using it for a 2019 MBP 16 and have had no reasons to regret my purchase. I don't edit photos for a living, and given the choice between this and one of the various top rated 4K monitors around .400, I don't think I'd pick the more expensive monitor. The only thing I can say negative about it is that the menu is really clumsy (joystick is annoying), but this was also the case with the monitor I was previously using so it might just be like that these days. I love that it uses an IEC cable and has a dedicated OFF switch instead of just a standby/off button. Stand is super adjustable as well.

I'd been using a CB272U alongside an Acer 25 monitor and quickly came to rely on the extra screen real estate. Still, the difference in screen height made it more efficient to keep a given window on one screen or the other, but not spanning both. By having two CB272U monitors side by side, it is now possible to stretch a window across both screens. This can be handy when editing a file and needing more width because text lines aren't wrapped, and for testing responsive web pages at extreme widths nobody would normally need. Sorry I hadn't gotten the second identical monitor sooner. As to performance, this is my fourth Acer. All have been great performers. The original 24 is about 15 years old and still going strong.

I got one of these for work and have been using it daily for a little over a month. Excellent performance and very bright and sharp. Wasn't able to get full resolution at first using HDMI from my work laptop, but switching to DisplayPort fixed that immediately. I'm going to blame that on limitations of the laptop's HDMI port. I was satisfied enough with it at work, to get a second one to use at home for photo/graphics/art. I calibrated my home one with a Datacolor SpyderX Pro, and the software claims it's giving 100% of the sRGB color gamut. Had to turn the brightness way down to get it down to the 120 cd/m2 the calibration software wanted - this monitor is bright! Turn the extra sharpening on, and it's very sharp too. I'm confident this will be a good monitor for the photo/graphic work I'm doing. Only complaint is that I wish it had a way to select color temperature so to better match with the calibration software, but this isn't a big deal. Tried a bit with some games and performance is great there too. Recommended to anyone looking for a 27 2K monitor at any price.

I am so pleased with my new Acer monitor. I had a question during set-up and got phone assistance! Wow. I high recommend.

As a software developer, I really like the screens I got. One is in portrait mode and they are both great. Build-in speakers are OK. Multiple PC input are possible and works fine, but each screen only allow one input at any given time (no PIP - did not require it though).
