Its built-in dual channel 802.11ax Wi-Fi provides speeds of up to 6 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple-Access (OFDMA) and 4x4 Multi-User MIMO technologies on both bands help to provide strong and efficient wireless connections to up to eight compatible devices simultaneously in large homes for streaming 4K video, playing online games, transferring files, and more. Smart connect technology automatically selects the best Wi-Fi band for each device with one Wi-Fi network name for the entire home. Additionally, the built-in 1.5 GHz dual-core processor is designed to provide smooth video streaming and gaming with minimal interruptions.

The Nighthawk AX8 also includes four Gigabit Ethernet ports and one 2.5 Gigabit port for high-speed wired network connections.
