The TS-873AeU 8-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP provides users with a 2.2 GHz AMD Ryzen V1500B Quad-Core processor and dual 2.5GbE ports in a single chassis. Compared to its previous generation, the TS-873AeU is enhanced with two M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x1 ports for NVMe SSD caching or Edge TPU empowered AI image recognition. Hardware integrated with comprehensive software solutions makes the TS-873AeU a solid choice for tackling resource-demanding applications and tasks, such as virtual machines or multi-user intensive access. The space-efficient short-depth, 2 RU design also makes it easy to install in small media cabinets or places with a lot of cabling.

The TS-873AeU is powered by 4GB of DDR4 RAM, which can be upgraded to 64GB. This NAS also supports JBOD and a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60, each of which offer data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. Its eight drive bays have the ability to natively house both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III and SATA II hard drives or SSDs, which can reach a throughput of up to 590 MB/s. Using the external 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A ports, this QNAP NAS can be connected to other QNAP devices, as well as other external drives. Furthermore, a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot can be used to install a 25GbE/10GbE network card, QM2 M.2 SSD card, USB 3.2 Gen 2 card, or Fiber Channel card.

The TS-873AeU 8-Bay NAS Enclosure can be used with either the QTS or QuTS hero OS. It operates on 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz using a 250W power supply and stays cool using three 60mm fans. It includes an Ethernet cable, a power cord, sixteen screws for 3.5" drives, and twelve screws for 2.5" drives. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty.

The 2U rackmount TS-873AeU has a short-depth design of only 11.7" , making it an excellent choice for smaller racks, wall-mount AV rack cabinets, and network rack cabinets. The TS-873AeU is space-saving for flexible deployment and is especially suitable for multiple locations and applications including offices, audiovisual rooms, and security surveillance recording.

Note: Users can purchase the optional RAIL-B02 rail kit to deploy the TS-873AeU in a 19" rack following the ANSI/EIA-RS-310-D standard.

When using both 2.5GbE ports, get download speeds of up to 548 MB/s, while upload speeds can reach 590 MB/s. When working with both 2.5GbE ports and encryption, download speeds remain the same, while upload speeds slightly drop to 586 MB/s.

The TS-873AeU comes with two 2.5GbE RJ45 LAN ports that allow you to use existing Cat 5e cables to upgrade network speeds from 1GbE to 2.5GbE. 5GbE speeds can also be attained by using Port Trunking.
