Poly Savi 8220 UC Wireless USB DECT Stereo Headset

Nice headset with bells and whistles but putting it back into the dock is a nightmare. Even after months of daily use, it takes a lot of fiddling with the headset to get it to plug into the dock. I would not purchase another one with this style dock.

The Poly headset works as expected: clear sound, easily switch between inputs (computer, landline, cellphone), easy setup. It is a good value for the investment.

Audio problems right out of the box. Could only input or output to the device headset. Could not select the headset for both audio and microphone simultaneously. A firmware update fixed that but broke stereo mode. Now both audio channels are sent to both earpieces (wideband mode in settings). It gets stuck in this non-stereo (wideband) mode on the new firmware. Buyer Beware!

This is an absolutely solid headset. Audio and microphone both sound great. The dock has connectivity via USB for computer such as softphone/ teams/ zoom, connectivity via bluetooth for any variety of devices, and connectivity via the EHS cable which adapts for my desk phone. Switching between the applications works great and the call waiting tone isn't intrusive. I use the binaural model which gives me better focus while on a call. The range of the headset is also very good where I can walk around the entire office without dropping conection.

After a lot of research, I chose this over the Jabra. 3 sections below: (1) basic info (2) Constraints (3) Battery life. Basic Details: (1) Base has 3 buttons. Strongly Recommended : Middle-button connected with Phones (so you can take calls from either phone or computer). (2) I have it working with my macbook pro and iphone XR (no issues connecting - at all). (3) Due to constraints (next section) you _HAVE_ to connect the Computer to the base via plain USB-Cable (provided). In my case, I am using a Dongle for my MacBook - to connect the USB cable to USB-C port. (4) I'm using it at home, but i know someone using this at his office, and he takes advantage of the 3rd connection by connecting the base to the Office's DESK PHONE. (5) You can walk up to 100 feet away (even outside your home) and the DECT (technology-name) based connection between headset base is just great! (6) Fiddle around the numerous settings. For mine .. Even if you significantly raise your voice (in anger :-) ) during the call, you'll actually sound as if you are monotoning ! That's an awesome feature. Constraints: (1) Bluetooth connection can _ONLY_ connect to one device at a time. That is, either your iPhone or your macbook. It will get very painful to keep switching the bluetooth connection, but yes, you can do it. (2) ATTENTION: This constraint is due to the currently popular BLUETOOTH-standard. You can't find any product with Bluetooth 8+ that can simultaneously connect to multiple devices. Jabra can't do this either (at this time). (3) Since the laptop is connected via USB-cable to the base, you canNOT walk around with your laptop. (4) Once every few weeks, the base's buttons malfunction. At which point I reboot by yanking plug, waiting 2 secs, and plugging it back in. Connection is re-established in 2-3 secs for your ongoing call! (5) No way to know if you are muted (with button on headset), unless you look at the base. Even so, the Headset's mute button' s toggle-sounds -- if you can learn to recognize those sounds -- is an OK substitute. (6) Listening to music sounds is not good - compared to good music headphones. BATTERY LIFE: (1) See attached picture. You will notice the GREEN light on the base (on ANY one of the 3 buttons/connections). The total amount of time that GREEN light can be ON .. is max 7 hrs (NON-STOP or not). If you take 10 calls / day (each lasting avg. 30 mins), you'll do just fine. (2) But .. if you'd like your MS-Teams chat-message-arrived alert-sounds to be heard on your headset, you're FORCED to keep the computer-connected NON-STOP. That can be a huge problem for some. NOT for me. FYI - I purchased this at after Amazon price-match - for Thanksgiving-sale 2020. I did that so, that I can get technical support and the ease of returning stuff.

I have been using the headset for a few days now. Overall I find it to be not great and not bad either. I would have rated it much higher if the noise cancelling for listening was better. The headset does not cup your ears well enough to block out noise in a way that Bose headphones do.

this is very comfortable. great noise reduction, bluetooth pairing with the cellphone was easy to setup. I got this because I'm often on zoom or the phone all day and this headset is comfortable to have on for many hours. Note though, the first model that I got had to be returned (no problem, did the exchange) because the right speaker did not function.
