Plugable USB-A and C to 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

This adapter is compatible with Windows 7 and later and macOS 10.7 and later. Additionally, this adapter offers basic functionality with Linux kernel 3.2 or full functionality with Linux kernel 5.0 and later. When using this adapter with macOS Catalina and earlier, separate driver installation may be required for full performance. Please note, this adapter is not a solution for connecting USB devices like printers and hard drives to a network. This adapter cannot be used to share Ethernet, WiFi, or mobile data between multiple devices.

Double Down on Ethernet

Plug into any laptop or desktop currently limited to Fast or Gigabit Ethernet or no Ethernet at all and benefit from faster transfers via a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet network. This adapter also works on Fast and Gigabit Ethernet networks at their native speeds. Please note, USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 systems support theoretical maximum transfer speeds up to 5 Gb/s and USB 2.0 supports up to 480 Mb/s using this adapter with a USB 2.0 port may limit performance.

When accessing sites on the internet, the bandwidth provided by your internet service provider (ISP) will likely determine your ultimate speeds. Lab testing by Plugable using the iPerf application on a local server has yielded speeds up to 2.37 Gb/s. However, speeds will depend on the capabilities of your host system and other network devices.

Please note, older versions of Windows, Linux, and macOS may require a driver download for the adapter to function. Older macOS versions will have limited functionality, including a 1 Gb/s link rate and no jumbo frame support, until the driver is updated through a separate install.

This adapter is compatible with Windows 7 and later, macOS 10.7 and later, and up-to-date Chrome OS systems. It also offers basic functionality with Linux kernel 3.2 or full functionality with Linux kernel 5.0 and later.

Please note, this adapter is not compatible with ARM-based Windows and Windows Mobile, most Android devices, TiVo Series 2 devices, Nintendo Wii or Switch, or other non-Windows or non-Mac platforms. Furthermore, it is not recommended for use with FreeBSD or pfSense.
