QNAP QGD-1602-C3558 Overview

Designed to host up to 4 virtual machines, the QNAP QGD-1602P-C3758-8G 16-Port Multi-Gig PoE++ Compliant Managed Switch & NAS Enclosure provides a comprehensive solution for small-to-medium-scale businesses, hotels, and stores to expand their networks and grow as needed.

Powered by a 2.2 GHz Intel Atom C3558 Quad-Core processor with 8GB of DDR4 memory, this web-managed rackmount switch supports high-bandwidth applications with a 96 Gb/s (48 Gb/s non-blocking) switching capacity. Four of its eight 2.5G Ethernet ports provide up to 90W of PoE to compatible devices such as advanced IP cameras, Wi-Fi 6 access points, and digital signage. The remaining 2.5G ports and all eight 1G Ethernet ports support up to 30W PoE with a total power budget of 200W. Dual 10G SFP+ slots are available for fiber uplinks. Additionally, the two 5G and dual 1G RJ45 management ports may be connected to multiple hosts, LAN devices, or the internet.

Expand the QGD-1602P with up to two separately purchased 2.5" SATA III drives and two M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD cache drives to add NAS storage to your network. Up to 64GB of DDR4 memory may be installed across two SO-DIMM slots and two PCIe 3.0 x4 slots are also available for expansions such as wireless network adapters and USB 3.2 Gen 2 cards. You can also add external storage drives using the two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports.

VM Hosting

The QGD-1602P PoE switch series can host virtual machines, containers, and provide other cloud applications, which enables diverse networking and storage solutions. In addition to QuWAN, QVR Pro, HybridMount, and other applications, the included App Center also supports VMs for running many open-source software applications.

Layer 2 Network

The QGD-1602P provides comprehensive Layer 2 management features such as VLAN, LACP, and LLDP for efficient control of networks through IP grouping and bandwidth management. It also supports powerful security functions, including IGMP Snooping, static MAC, QoS, and Wake-on-LAN that are ideal for simple networking environments and easy deployment. Aside from the QNAP Switch System (QSS), the QGD-1602P also offers the user-friendly web interface software QuNetSwitch (via QTS) to help IT staff control Layer 2 management and PoE networks. The overview dashboard and statistical analysis area displays all the information about the switch and PDs at a glance.
