Fits snug gives good shade and doesn't really get in the way. I wish it had an ability to taper off into a smaller viewing hole however.

It does a great job of eliminating glare from the display, and makes it a work easier to use an iPad mini on a bright sunny day. Only drawback is that using the touchscreen is awkward. Maybe I will get used to it after more use. I might see if I can widen the access slot a bit to make it easier.

I have tried everything from one-size-fits-nothing to making my own, and this shield is simply the best. I had some concerns that it might not fit my iPad Mini4 because of the Otterbox case, but this isn't any problem because this device rests on the inner top perimeter and straps around (two crosswise, one lengthwise) the base of the iPad. The straps are elastic to provide a tight fit, but are easily adjusted, and having done that once merely need to be unclipped to remove the hood. At this time I don't feel the need to get the extension since I am primarily a line of sight flyer and just reference the screen to frame shots and check flight telemetry. That being said since I wear polarized glasses there might come a day when I will need total immersion and it's good to know the hood extension is available. The only con to using this device is that it does somewhat block access to the main button, so I can't use the fingerprint ID to initialize the iPad. However, the finger slot cut in the bottom allows me complete freedom to touch the entire screen, so it's a tradeoff I'm willing to make to have a well designed, foldable shield that works as intended.

Having owned several HoodMan hoods for video cameras over the years I was expecting quality for a fair price as well as a product that works. Very satisfied on all counts! Flying either a Inspire 1 or a MavicPro, this hood works flawlessly.
