Gator 52' Utility Cart Standard

Well built. MASSIVELY prefer the metal pedal for releasing the vertical rails over the weird pull-string system other brands have. Easy to put together and light weight.

I bought this cart because it is allegedly 8lb lighter than my Rock N Roller R12 carts, and the people at Gator told me it has metal bearings. I hoped it would roll lighter and easier through airports with 450lb of gear loaded on it. When I opened it, I tested the casters right away. The big ones have decent resistance out of the box, but not great. When I spin the little ones, the wheel goes around only once or twice before stopping. I didn't take the caster off the axle, but it appears not to have bearings at all (I might be wrong about that). If your concern is an easily rolled cart, you're better off replacing your Rock N Roller bearings with McMasters or whatever. Perhaps most people won't notice this issue, but once you've pushed one of these carts with high quality bearings in it, you don't want to go back. I'm returning it without assembling it, so I can't speak to its overall performance.

Got it on a Daily Deal for .160 !! Whoa... was I LUCKY because this is the cart build that you should be willing to pay full price for!! The height of the two push bars are absolutely PERFECT... and the best asset for me was the Step Bar use to release/Unlock and lock the push bars!!! No more leaning down and using your hand to shove the plastic covered threaded cable like I do the two Rock n Roller brand carts I own. That other leading brand of carts are well build too... but for the price, functionality, build quality, and ergonomics, Gator is by far the winning cart brand for me. I use it for video production and I tote two Apurture 600D's, three Sachtler camera bags, modifiers, two 24" Osee monitor cases, quite a few LED lighting cases and midsized accessory bags. It has PLENTY of space, and the wheels handle those effortlessly. I'm a huge fan and it suits my needs to where I use the other carts to handle the other gear as B and C carts (audio gear, grip equipment, electrical) Hahaha. Gator for the win!! - Brian A.

I needed something to carry my equipment for weddings and corporate shoots. This held all of my stuff and didn't have any issues. I like that it can expand out. I wish the legs would turn in, as it would store even better in my vehicle, but I can manage. Do it, it will save you time, and save your back.

Overall I'm pleased with this cart in terms of flexibility and capacity. I had read other reviews about hardware loosening and falling off quickly, and while assembling the wheels I also noticed the nuts for the swing arms and spring-loaded arm locks were loose. I backed all of those nuts and screws off and added removable thread locker to every threaded item, and pulled each of the plastic bumpers off (which were also very loose) and reattached with Gorilla Glue clear. Hopefully this will keep the hardware where it's supposed to be, but that should have been part of the build/design in the first place.

I'm very impressed with the build quality. It's compact enough to fit in my trunk along with a drum hardware case, and it extends to 52 to accommodate all of my gear.

I love that this expands and can be used in versatile ways. It's going to be a back saver when hauling my gear into a show. It shouldn't be a problem through the parking lot, dirt driveway, or a gravel road- let's go!
