There are vents to reduce the risk of the panel overheating by allowing hot air to escape and the cover prevents water from reaching the battery, the control unit, or AC/DC adapter. The high-density shock cord on the bottom allows you to fasten the cover to a lighting stand or other mount. The length of the cover prevents water from getting to the panel through the bottom. A waterproof, zippered pouch in included for storage and transport of the cover when you aren t using it.
