This Scrim Jim Cine Frame Set from Westcott includes all of the necessary frame tubes and connectors to construct your own 4 x 4` frame for attaching fabrics in order to create diffusion panels, flags, or other light control tools. This specific kit includes four 46" tubes and four 2D frame connectors. Each tube is constructed from anodized aluminum alloy, features riveted heavy-duty hook-and-loop tape on two sides for attaching fabrics, and incorporates a 3/8"-16 threaded mount for mounting atop stands. The included self-locking connectors are used to combine the individual tube pieces in order to create a flat 2D frame.

Westcott Scrim Jim Cine Frame Tube (46")

The integral component within a modular system, this 46" long Scrim Jim Cine Frame Tube from Westcott is used to construct customized panels in sizes ranging from 1 x 1` to 8 x 8`. When paired with optional fabrics, such as silks or diffusers, frame tubes form the rigid support from which fabrics are attached to create flags, diffusion panels, book lights, v-flats, or numerous other light controlling tools.

This tube is constructed from anodized aluminum alloy and heavy-duty hook-and-loop tape is riveted to two sides of the tube for attaching fabrics. A 3/8"-16 threaded mount is incorporated into the tube for mounting atop stands and additional dedicated self-locking connectors are used to combine several pieces of tube to create flat 2D frames or dynamic 3D light shaping tools.

Tube measures 46" long and can be added to additional tubes through the use of dedicated, self-locking connectors.

Anodized aluminum-alloy construction and self-locking connectors both help to maintain rigid, reliable frame configurations in various sizes up to 8 x 8`.

Hook-and-loop tape is riveted onto two sides of the tube and is used for attaching a variety of fabric types to the frame system.

A 3/8"-16 mount is incorporated into the tube`s design for mounting to stands or other accessories.

I got this frame YEARS ago, use it with a 1/2 stop diffuser, works great, very durable, has endured hours and hours of rugged use, totally improves quality of my work, but.... For years I fumbled with how to mount it to a C-stand. I improvised many different ways, often muttering 4-letter words as I came up with sub-par results every time. If I was lucky enough to have a PA with me, all was good, if it wasn't too windy. But still I was left scratching my head as to how to mount it up on a C-stand or the likes. Well, recently I FINALLY discovered the Westcott Scrim Jim Cine Clamp with 5/8 Stud - This is the GAMECHANGER!! This specialized clamp coupled with a solid grip head makes ALL the difference, seriously! The clamp is SO solid and you can position the frame/diffuser in so many different ways. And with a couple sandbags, the whole set up can even handle a little bit of wind. So, bottom-line, if you get this frame and you'd like to mount it on a C-stand, GET THE WESCOTT SCRIM JIM CINE CLAMP, it's worth every penny and then some. I should have just called up years ago for a little guidance, wish I had found this sooner. The clamp is not listed as one of the recommended accessories for the frame - Yet, it SHOULD be the #1 recommended accessory (pretty much an essential). I hope this helps anyone out there shopping for this frame (or anyone that already owns one) as it would have helped me a ton to have known about this long ago.

I love all the Westcott Scrim Jim Cine products. I have everything from 4x4 to 8x8 products. I love to use the 6x6 for a Booklight that I use for my key light.

This is the perfect addition to my portable kit! I have a few 2x3 scrims that work great but because they don't break down they are a pain to carry for on location shoots. The scrim jim excels in that it is easy to pack and carry and because I can buy different fabrics for a quick switch. I would buy more of them but they are incredibly pricey compared to other scrims that don't break down. Would buy more if the price was a bit cheaper.
