Godox Gobo Set Holder

The Godox Gobo Holder SA-10, consist of two non-magnetic metal rings in which a gobo is place between the two rings and then the rings are screwed together. Think, like a sandwich. The inner ring is about 68mm in diameter with two very small recessed positions for your fingers. The outer ring is about 75mm in diameter with an attached metal stick handle. Placing the gobo into the outer ring you then match up and twist the inner ring while your fingers are in the recessed position. That's the idea. I dislike the Godox Gobo Holder, why? Because right out of the box I could not screw the two rings together. I had trouble trying to line up the threads and once started the rings were too stiff to screw by hand. Wow, so frustrating, I did not want to strip the threads so I quit. Thinking, I used a Q-tip with a drop of oil and lubricated the threads. This allowed me to screw/unscrew the rings together with a gobo. Only with very careful screwing motion, and always watchful not to strip the threads I was able to use this poorly designed product. The stick handle is too thin, making it hard to insert/remove the holder into the Godox SA-P Projection Attachment, which is what this holder is meant to do. If the gobo holder is in place you cannot use the Godox Iris Diaphragm SA-06. It is either one or the other. Thankfully, the Godox SA-05 scrims go into another location. With the gobo in the projector the pattern of the gobo is projected. The pattern can be sharp or un-sharp depending on how the lens is focused. Pattern size depends upon throw distance and focal length of the lens. I recommend the 85mm SA-01 lens for most usage. The gobo is easily rotated for correct placement of the projected pattern. I rate this product a GRADE - F, using the U.S. school system of (A-F grades). Suggestions. Discard this design. Use a bayonet or an old school film negative holder design, much superior with a larger handle for gripping. Increase gobo patterns like Magmod offers. Unfortunately, I know of no other gobo holder that fits the Godox SA-P Projector unit as of October 2021. Godox, you failed in this design.
