FotodioX Lantern Globe Softbox (26', Flash Speed Ring)

Speedring adapters typically consist of a speedring (in this case, it's already in place securing the rods of the softbox), and an adapter to the light source you're using. USUALLY, that adapter - in my case a Bowens mount - is one piece of metal with a thin disk that slides into place and is locked into the speedring. But, Fotodiox decided to just wrap a Bowens collar around the adapter disk - and in using this globe for the very first time after owning it for 2 days, the collar slid off the adapter sending the globe crashing to the floor and damaging the speedring adapter. I inspected this very closely, and there was nothing securing the adapter collar to the disk at all, nor was there a place to secure it, beyond the tension of a '.tight fitting,' or lack there of. Very cheap and a shortcut that sacrificed the safety and reliability of this product. I'm very disappointed in Fotodiox. I know they make cheap accessories, but this was very very cheap and embarrassing on a high end professional shoot that I thought would benefit from this kind of light source... now reconsidering alternatives.
