What a great light that is going to be very versatile for my productions. I love that this bright light can run on ac power, but also on v-mount battery. That makes this light very versatile. Also, when running on ac, the converter attaches to the v-mount slot otherwise used for the battery, so the entire power supply is together and not dangling by the cable. This takes the stress off the connection, which is great and prevents damage. It also looks very neat, tidy, and professional on the set. The build quality is fantastic. Made entirely of metal, it feels like it is built to last. Constructed well with a lot of attention to detail. The knobs for tightening the tilt of the light have teeth so when tightened it is locked down tight and secure. It comes with a well-made diffuser which helps soften the light. The barn doors feel secure, and even though these are longer barndoors that cover the entire length of the light, they do not seem like they will bend apart or break at the connection points. Some barn door attachment can get caught on the housing and break, but these seem well positioned and thought out. It is also nice that the barndoors are easily removeable. The yoke mount has 2 places to mount on the stand (or lighting grid). Either from the bottom or the side, again adding to the flexibility to position the light, because now you can light straight down. This will be so great as a soft overhead light especially for tabletop shoots. The LCD control panel is easy to navigate and intuitive. The light also has DMX 512 controls/capabilities too, so you can conveniently use it with a lighting board in a studio. As far as the quality of the light it emits, I'm super impressed. It gives a very soft, pleasing, robust light and to be able to dial in the color temperature is fantastic. It could be used as a key or fill because of its smooth dimming from 0% to 100%. I also plan on using it a lot as a rim light. I see myself placing it vertically and getting a nice consistent side light, head to toe on a person. Or maybe mount it horizontally as a backlight for a single person, or because it is a twin panel and fairly long, for multiple people. I could also see this working perfectly for lighting a green screen uniformly. I think you get why I'm so pleased with this light. It is well-made, provides a beautiful light quality and is extremely versatile for both location shoots and in a studio.
