Light & Motion CLx10 LED Light

I went from strobes to this system, and I have been really enjoying them. Strobes do have their place since they are much more powerful, but in a way with continuous light what you see is what you get. You can fine tune your lighting and adjust them in 100 lumen increments from 500-10,000 lumens. These have a built in fan that keeps the light cool so they can run at full brightness continuously and the fan is off on lower intensities and speeds up as you start pushing the light hard. I also like how they work with a lot of different modifiers. They have the Elinchrom Q-mount, so you do need an adapter for classic Elinchrom EL modifiers. They could use nicer knobs on the baby receiver and the umbrella mounting. The ones they have do work decently, but compared to the knobs on my C-stands they're really tiny. There might also be a better way to prevent slip on the joint that adjusts the angle of the light that has the high leverage handle. My Kupo grip heads for example grip very tightly when tightened down normally and the joints have some bite so they don't slip. The lights run continuously on full power with the 110W power supplies. The included cords are somewhat short, so I ended up using longer power cords. The lights charge up quickly if you were running them off battery power, and the fans run when the batteries are charging. The system is compatible with Elinchrom's Skyport system and comes with an Elinchrom remote. The remote is very helpful, and I've used it a lot. The bag they provide is a custom bag from Tenba and is well made to protect the lights and modifiers. The build of the light is very solid and everything fits nicely. All my modifiers fit well and work well. I've used many different Light and Motion products for eight years, and I have not been disappointed. They are made to be durable and reliable, and the customer service is excellent.
