Cavision Color LED Strip and Remote RGB Controller Package (16.4')

I bought this used and it seemed fine. I had high hopes for this to use in some blurred lighting effects and after quickly figuring out what the limits of what it could do were, I was very disappointed to turn on the camera and find that it flickered very badly no matter what I did. Even out of focus it was pretty extreme in it's flickering with my situation at least. I was unable to use it and had to return it. If you have a better way than I do of controlling this it might not be a problem for you. That said it does have some simple controls in the remote that are good as far as they go. Not exactly pick a color any color, but a 16 step color wheel representation. Remote controls: Strobe seemed to just fade in. I think after a while it fades out and in again but I'm not sure. Fade does a color wheel cycle that I didn't time out but I estimate is a 15-20 sec. loop. There is only the one speed as far as I could tell. Smooth was anything but, not sure what that's for but it seemed to be a hard cut from color to color through the 16, also at one rapid speed. I didn't try to use Flash, but I think it is rapid on/off cycle with one color or white. The little IR sensor breakout seemed to work ok up to 6' away (all the further I was trying to use it). The cable connections are very weak and should probably be taped but it's a pretty cool design to allow you to chain these things together. Polarity is marked with a hash on each side of the connectors, so that was obvious. If it wasn't for the flicker I would have kept it.
