Glide Gear OH50 Overhead Photo and Video Camera Boom Pole

My best guess is that this was originally designed to hold a phone. Then they decided to throw in a DSLR mount to sell more of them. There is no way you should put your expensive camera lens at the end of this. There is no stability. You have to put this on a sturdy, wide-stance tripod (so it won't tip over), mount your valuable camera lens on the end and then wait for it to stop bouncing in mid-air. The counter-weights would only counter a small phone (if that). The only reason this thing sells at all is simply because there is not an affordable, sturdy, overhead mount option available. And yes, as some have mentioned, the pole comes right out as you extended it, so be ready to catch your camera lens in mid air. Honestly, I would recommend the Impact Aluminum Mid-Range Boom Arm (it's sturdier and has a hook to hang weights from) and add a ball-head attached to the end. Roughly same price. Sending mine back because I can't support a company that puts my equipment at risk. Don't think should be selling this (or allowing the image that shows large counter-weight which does not exist and and there's no way to mount one if it did).
