Moultrie Ranch Series Auger Feeder (450 lb)

The Moultrie Ranch Feeder has flimsy legs and chute but is sold at a great price point. With some reinforcements for the legs and after staking down the feed trough, it seems to work fine.

The timer aspect doesn't always work because the feed clogs up in the feeder. Having trouble figuring out how to adjust it.

While the feeder is nice and finally got it put together and seems quite durable I'm having difficulty with getting the auger to properly dispense feed because the feed gets clogged and doesn't fall properly. I don't know if it's something I did wrong but I would love an explanation on how I can fix this or how I can make it work.

I bought this for my pigs and it has saved me so much work! No more hauling feed back and forth in 5 gallon buckets. Easy to put together and use. Definitely will be ordering another one.

I have been using a modified Moultrie deer feeder for the past decade to feed my farm animals, and it has performed reasonably well. However, I was considering building a custom feeder with an auger drive and a larger hole to ensure a steady flow of feed without clogging. To my delight, Moultrie introduced a product that matched my requirements, and I purchased it as soon as it became available.I mounted the feeder on a 2x6 wooden frame above my pig feeding area without the included metal legs. The construction is incredibly sturdy, and it easily held 200 pounds of pelleted feed. The amount you can add will depend on the type of feed you use. This lasts us about 2-3 weeks for our pigs.I also bought Moultrie's 12V rechargeable battery and remote control for added convenience. The remote is great for providing snacks and adjusting the feeding pathway. I recommend keeping the feeder parts out of direct contact with animals to prevent wear and overfeeding. I built a wooden chute instead of using the included metal ramp to avoid contact with the pigs as they will bump into the parts until food comes out.Moultrie doesn't offer a suitable 12V solar panel for their rechargeable battery, so I purchased one from Amazon that works perfectly. I hung it vertically on the sun-facing side and easily threaded the cable through the provided feeder grommets.This feeder has significantly improved feeding consistency and reliability, reducing our daily workload on the ranch. Moultrie's exceptional build quality and robust design have made me a lifelong fan.

It's been one week since I putted it together. It seems to be working good and setting it up was easy.. I only wish the battery slot was bigger.

My first impression of the feeder on setup was good, had no trouble with assembly. Then I took it to the field and added the feed, the feed mix I planned to run in it will not gravity feed out of the auger. I was also disappointed with how hard it is to get the lid on. With 2 people we got it but when I was alone no luck.
