For the Mauser 1.4 diameter receiver ring (98FN), 1.3 diameter receiver ring (Swedish 96), and Bauer 3000 and 4000 shimming is probably required for perfect scope alignment. The rear base may require modifications for a correct fit to military actions.

Savage 110, 112, 116 (long actions) 210 Shtg (use X-high rings) pre-2003 models, 10, 12 & 16 (short actions) Striker, Pistol, 510, 512, 516 S/A, 10 ML (2-piece only) pre-2003 models, 10, 12, 110, 112 (all long action AccuTrigger), 10, 12, 110, 112 (all short action AccuTrigger), 10 ML II, Stevens, Savage/Stevens 200 or shorter tube scopes or red dot scopes use #402 extension front base or one-piece base if available. Extension base allows an extra 0.689 .

The Winchester 52 with the same hole spacing may require bolt and/or safety alterations, otherwise firearm cannot function safely and properly. Consult with a qualified gunsmith. For the Winchester 52 and Winchester 70 Long Action Rifles, check the spacing of the tapped holes for the rear base and compare it to the hole spacing for the front base. For the same hole spacing, Model 70, use 47+ 46.

The Winchester Lever Actions 53, 55, 64, 65, 66, 71, 1886, 1892, 95, and 1895 will have to be drilled and tapped.

The Winchester 54, early Models, and 70 with serial numbers below #66 350 may require bolt and/or safety alterations or the firearm will not function safely and properly. Consult with a qualified gunsmith.

For the Winchester 70 Long Action with the same hole spacing, 670, 770, 70 Long Action, 70 Long Action with different hole spacing, 70 Super Express with different hole spacing, and 70 Super Express the handiest way to pinpoint the correct base for the Winchester 52 & 70 Long Action Rifles is to check the spacing of the tapped holes for the rear base and compare it to the hole spacing for the front base. If the hole spacing is the same, then use 46+ 46 for Model 52 and use 47+ 46 for Model 70. If the hole spacing is different, use 25+ 57 for Model 52 and 49A+ 46 for Model 70.
