Meopta S2 20-70x Eyepiece

Very clear views at baseline magnification, and clearly superior to the Vortex razor as a scope. It should be as it costs about €700 more. But, it is NOT crystal clear at 50+ magnification, when using the zoom (the sole review that I saw on this website suggests it is.. that is absolutely not true). The clarity very good, but it's not excellent. Critically (for me): while the manufacturer reports this has 18mm eye relief through the magnification zone, that is clearly not true. The eye relief goes perhaps down to 16.5/17mm.. and as an eyeglasses wearer, it's not enough. So I find myself trying to compensate by pushing my face into the ocular lens. That's not what you want. IF the eye relief were a consistent 18mm through the magnification range, I would seriously consider this product. It's got a 30 yr warranty against defects/manufacturing (assuming you register it.. if you don't you're down to 10 years). As it is, I'm moving on to try the Zeiss and Swaro offerings.
