Explore Scientific EPWP12009-01 Overview
The 2" diameter barrel 120° -Series 9mm Eyepiece from Explore Scientific gives you an apparent field of view that goes beyond ultra-wide angle but with a short focal length. This combination of AFoV and focal length produce expansive images of the night sky at high magnification. Objects stay in your field of view for extended periods, reducing the need for adjustments that can cause vibrations.
Antireflective multicoated optics ensures bright, high-contrast images with true color transmission across the entire hyper-wide field of view. The eyepiece features a textured surface for a sure-grip when changing it out, an argon-filled body for water and fog-proof performance when used in extreme temperatures and climates, and a double-tapered barrel for smooth insertion and removal from the focuser.
Hyper-wide 120° apparent field of view (AFoV) displays an expansive view of the sky with minimal optical distortion.
9mm focal length produces high magnifications for detailed observation of near and deep-sky objects. The wide AFoV keeps subjects in view without constant mount adjustment, critical if your scope doesn t have a motorized mount.
Images have true color transmission across the entire field of view, even as the observed object approaches the field stop.
Wide exit pupil and long eye relief ensure comfortable long-duration observation through your telescope.
Double-tapered barrel allows smooth insertion and removal from the telescope s eyepiece holder or diagonal.
Fold-down eyecup prevents peripheral light from leaking into your eye, causing blurring and dimming of the image.
