ES continues their commitment to user-friendly gear with the PMC-Eight motor drive system that uses micro-stepper motors and a direct-drive belt connection between the drive shaft and motor to ensure accurate and smooth tracking for extended periods with minimal vibration and zero backlash. The entire PMC-Eight software suite is offered as open-source code so users can tweak the system and share their preferences with a growing community of enthusiasts.

Keeping up with the latest technology, the common wired control system is augmented with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for remote control from Windows or Android/iOS tablets running the ExploreStars app. It has a database of over 70,000 objects and an intuitive user interface controlled with the device s touchscreen. The DSLR Camera Vixen-Style Dovetail Assembly from Explore Scientific is created from high-pressure injection die-cast aluminum for structural integrity and has a black anodized finish to resist scratches and abrasions. This V-block is 11 long and 1.77 wide and features a laser-etched scale in 2mm increments on one side to help you quickly determine the balance point when placing the camera on the mount head. The opposite side features a stainless steel strip to protect the dovetail casting when securing it to the mount head.

This dovetail plate is machined with three available camera screw positions and comes complete with one 1/4 -20 attaching bolt and spring-loaded safety pin for mounting a camera body. Rubber anti-slip pads prevent unwanted camera movement and protect the camera body finish from marring. This dovetail assembly is suitable for use on all Explore Scientific mounts and other brands of mount that accept the popular Vixen-style dovetail plate design.
