Powerex C9000Pro Professional Charger-Analyzer

does what I need, discharges, provides information about battery capacity, charges at a rate you pick. I had to read the four page instruction sheet about five times, but after conditioning a few sets of batteries, I am now very comfortable using it. If you want a charger that tells you the condition of your batteries and lets you condition or brake them in, buy this. If you just want to change batteries without thinking about it, this is the wrong product.

This charger has worked great for me. I was able to bring a battery back from not charging on it's basic charger to functioning normally again.

This charger/conditioner is well made, informative and seems to do what it's supposed to do. Somewhat pricey but worth it. Would be 5 stars if it would handle C and D cells.

Rechargeable batteries need to be refreshed periodically, and the C9000Pro does so, effectively multiplying the lifetime of your batteries. This justifies the cost, which is two or three times higher than a regular recharger.

I have a bunch of NiMH batteries that just didn't seem to hold a charge well. I was worried they were dying on me and I just couldn't trust them in my flash. My current charges charges batteries, nothing more. This system, it's more than just a charger, had good reviews and the price is very reasonable. It allowed me to analyze all my batteries and see which of them were no longer charging to their listed capacity. I got rid of the duds. Next time my batteries need a charge, there is a "charge only" cycle. Once a year or so I can check the remaining capacity of my batteries. I feel better knowing the capacity of my batteries as opposed to a simple "go - no go." Very happy with this purchase.

1) When you put a cell in sometimes it reads a false voltage for the first 10-30 seconds... somewhat annoying, as I like to check voltage this way. 2) To compound the above, the info readings cycle at a fixed rate per cell and you can't accelerate them... so, you put the cell in, it gives you charge time (0 mins), then charging rate (in mAh, i.e. ~1000), mAh charged i.e. 374 mAh, then voltage of the cell i.e. 1.14v... it's about 4 seconds per or something, so to look at your voltage you have to wait about ten seconds, and like I said, it can sometimes have a false reading (presumably while it's performing some really cool smart test to see how to handle the cell, not to overcharge, etc. etc.) for almost half a minute sometimes. So, you're waiting like 3 cycles through all 4 readings to just check your voltage... If you could cycle readings manually, probably I'd leave it at 5/5, but since you are at the arbitrary unchangeable mercy of the timing of each info reading it's a bit of a bother for me to use how I like, which is of course one of the main reasons I like to go for chargers with voltage readouts instead of the much cheaper ones that just have a battery icon with 3 bars or the like. Just imagine trying to check the voltage of 4 cells one after another on this guy, not that fun... We now have ton more AA NiMHs for Tamiya mini 4wd races that the littles don't necessarily keep organized... I almost sent one back, but decided to order a second in case I didn't understand what was happening. I now have two of these, and don't really regret it. The 8 Bay version will probably be my next NiMH charger purchase, it just doesn't have as many charging speed (amperage) options as these guys.

I received my c9000Pro in a timely manner and put it to work immediately. I have been running it constantly now for more than three weeks - I have a lot of catching up to do. It works as advertised, I'm pleased with its production. David
