Minolta MN40WP Waterproof Dual-Screen Digital Camera (Blue)

These are very pretty cameras. Unfortunately, they were a disappointing purchase for us. We bought two of these for Christmas this year for our daughters. We wanted them to have a reasonably nice camera so they could have fun snapping photos and also end up with some decent quality pictures. This camera let us down. The camera itself feels cheap. Our youngest daughter dropped her camera about 3 times and it no longer works. When taking a photo, the delay between pressing the button and the camera taking the picture is very long. It reminds me of some cameras made back in 2000. The photos are not great quality and the pictures are easily blurred because of the delay in the photo being taken. The camera controls are also slow and hard to navigate. The buttons are far from intuitive. For example, the delete 'garbage can' button does not act as expected. If you take a picture, and know you want to delete it right away, simply press the 'garbage can' button. It will ask you if you want to delete the photo, with the yes/no options displayed on the screen in a horizontal position. Use the up/down arrows to select yes and hit 'ok.' Simple. Now, if you want to go through and delete pictures previously taken, hit 'mode' twice, scroll through the pictures and then hit the 'ok' button when you come to the pictures you want to delete. Next, answer the 'do you want to delete this picture' questions using the up/down arrows and the 'ok' button. You never use the garbage can for this procedure. I understand this is a small irritation, but there are so many little annoyances here. If you want face detect on, you must set it every time you turn the camera on. It does not remember this setting. When you scroll through the pictures, even though they scroll through in a left/right animated way, you need to use the up/down arrows. It is just not well designed. Overall, we weren't happy with this purchase.
