With full support for Nikon TTL, including high-speed sync and a built-in 2.4 GHz radio system, the Kenko AB600-R AI TTL Flash has the capacity for straightforward gun-and-run shooting as well as advanced multi-flash capabilities. When mounted on camera, it is an effective lighting tool with a powerful ISO 100 guide number of 197 at 200mm, a zoom range of 20-200mm, and the ability to tilt from 0 to 120 degrees and rotate 180 degrees. As a TTL-capable unit, the AB600-R can also operate as wireless master or slave flash head with TTL functionality.
The AB600-R recycles from 0.1 to 3.5 seconds and can be adjusted from 1/128 to full power in manual mode while it has a A±3-stop TTL exposure compensation range. The AB600-R gets about 180 full power flashes on four separately-purchased AA batteries, but that number can be significantly increased, and the recycling time shortened with purchase of the optional BP-1 battery pack.
3D Auto Bounce Function
The Auto Bounce function of the Kenko AI Flash AB600-R automatically calculates the most appropriate angle of light bounce from the wall (left and right side) or the ceiling.
Angle Lock
Angle Lock allows the flash to remember the bounce angle setting in Manual Mode for use in TTL mode at a later time in case the camera position is changed from the horizontal to vertical position.
Guide Number
With a guide number of 197 at ISO 100 and 200mm, the AB600-R will easily illuminate most subjects. It features a zoom head with a range of 20-200mm and will also cover 18mm when used with the wide panel.
External Power Supply
The optional BP-1 battery pack will support long shooting sessions and shorten recycling times.
Firmware Updates
The flash has a USB connection for future firmware update installation.
