In my opinion is THE BEST bracket on the market today. It has a small footprint in your bag/case as well as on your camera. It's easy to set-up and easy to use. Super quick when going from horizontal to vertical and visa versa, just a quick pull and it's back up in the correct position. When shooting Red Carpet events this bracket is indispensable. Highly recommend.

I've used a few cheaper brackets positioning the flash above camera for vertical as well horizontal framing. This Rapid Fire model is by far the best. It is quick to switch to vertical framing, is compact in size, highest in quality and superior in design and handling. Fit, finish and manufacture is second to none and is reflected in the price. This model requires an Arca-Swiss style camera bracket which is an additional small cost. I'd recommend this combination for professional use having simple/quick attachment and removal. For those not acquainted with the subtleties of flash positioning; raising the flash slightly higher than would be when attached to camera provides much less of a potential shadow showing behind subject. It also gives a more pleasing effect. Secondly, on camera flash units are designed to produce ideal lighting when in their horizontal (normal) orientation. They have special directional lenses to modify the flash for ideal quality in their normal orientation when attached to camera shoe. So in order to maintain the ideal fash qualities the flash must always remain horizontal (normal) even when the subject is framed in a vertical or portrait format. These refinements described here using the Rapid Rire Rotating Bracket are professional techniques used to get the optimum results using an on-camera flash. This situation is where the photographer needs to move around covering a person or event. On-camera flash is not ideal for lighting a portrait.
