The Speedy Bracket is a quick, simple way to switch between vertical and horizontal view with your camera using a shoe mount flash, without missing a shot or changing the look of your light. The bracket smoothly rotates your camera, easily switching between horizontal and vertical positions, while keeping your flash stationary and centered above the lens at all times. It is designed so that you can use your camera s own grip to shoot photos. The Speedy Bracket s cushioned bracket arm can also double as a comfortable carrying handle.

The included Canon EOS compatible TTL off-camera flash cord provides photographers with the ability to fire off-camera Canon compatible speedlights. Mounting a camera on the Speedy Bracket with the TTL cord removes harsh shadows when shooting in portrait mode, and reduces red-eye altogether, while maintaining TTL capabilities.

One side of the TTL cord fits directly into the camera s hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera s exposure data is maintained. The other side fits onto the Speedy Bracket, where your flash will be attached.

This coiled cord measures 1.5 (0.5 m), which is an ideal distance to accommodate the Speedy Bracket.

The 1.5 Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire Canon flashes with E-TTL / E-TTL II capabilities. Removing the flash from the camera s hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe. This coiled cord measures 1.5 , which is enough distance to accommodate hand-held lighting styles or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket. I spent a day evaluating the bracket after I received the order. I use a Nikon Z50 camera body and a Nikkor MC 105/2.3 S Macro Lens with a Nikon Speedlight SB-700. It is my only macro lens and is also used for portraits. The camera/lens/flash perform well for both. I ordered the bracket to be able to separate the flash from the camera and also make switching the camera/lens from landscape to portrait mode easy while keeping the lens centered on the subject. It does this, but when mounted on the bracket, I cannot replace my camera battery or memory card because the compartment door is slightly blocked by the rotating camera platform. I can move the camera further back on the platform but then the sloping part of the lens barrel contacts the rounded front edge of the platform, preventing the camera from moving back far enough to access the battery and memory card. Even moving the camera and lens back until a standard index card will no longer fit between the lens and the platform still does not allow the compartment door to be opened completely. Opening the compartment enough to remove the battery or memory card requires loosening the camera mounting knob significantly so that the lens barrel no longer makes contact and the access door will clear the camera platform. I can see that the camera platform has been machined on an angle to avoid this but unless the camera is moved out of the way, the door will not clear. I could not find a workaround. This means that during a shoot if the battery is exhausted, the replacement process will also require some realignment of the system. This is tedious and time-consuming. It might work to put an additional spacer under the camera but the camera mounting knob is not long enough to accommodate it and it may make the system even less stable. The disincentive to sending back the free return item is the customer must pay the 12 shipping for a 35 item, which was supposed to be compatible. I decided that on balance I will tolerate the inconvenience. Although when loaded with the relatively lightweight camera, lens and flash, the camera moves slightly when making setting adjustments or triggering the shutter directly. The photographer must use a remote trigger or a shutter delay to avoid some motion blur. Mounting the bracket on a tripod with a ball head makes leveling relatively easy. The good news is that the resulting images are sharp and the camera/lens can be moved seamlessly from landscape to portrait and back using the bracket's clever mechanism. Separating the flash by mounting it above the camera on the bracket yields portraits without annoying shadows. So the bottom line is the Vello Bracket does most important things well, accounting for my rating. Disclosure of a potential battery/memory card access problem would have made for a more informed purchase decision.
