Metabones L39 Mount 35-135mm Lens to Leica M Camera 6-Bit Lens Mount Adapter

This product is not well made, It scratched my new M10P purchased on Aug 24th, and I must write this review to show you guys, !!!! I bought this item hoping for better quality over cheaper options, I heard good things about this brand, and I was very very disappointed, the clearance is not made to spec, mounting the adapter to the lens was not a problem, but mounting to the M- body was very tight, so tight that it made a scratch on the mounting flange of the M10P, I should have selected Voigtlander which is made in Japan,

The adapter is well-made and nicely finished. Fit on the lens and camera is perfect. The six bit coding does not register on my M 10 but none of my other lenses are coded either and that really does not matter to me. I select the lenses individually.

Inside the box is really a 50-75mm adapter. Quality of the ring looks good, but lacks the rear lens cap, as in the original Leica & Voigtlander adapter which helps with removal of the adapter from the M mount. There are indentations for the 6-bit code, but not marked with the white & black coding as on Leica coded lenses. Maybe its the same manufacturing process that mislabeled the box which missed coding the indentations with the proper white & black code. As it is, one will have to manually paint the indentations for the Leica M camera to recognize any coding. Physically it is usable ONLY as a screw to M mount adapter, but don't expect the 6-bit code to function till after you've painted it & without the manual frame selector on the new Leica M, if you put a 35or135mm lens on the adapter, the viewfinder will not automatically display the correct frame

Bought it to use my array of LTM lenses on my MP and M10, save yourself some trouble and find the real Leica adapters. They may not allow you to live view but these are not cut correctly to fit the standard Voigtlander rear cap removal nubbins, once installed, and its a very tight fit, I actually decided not to use it on my M10 due to the force I was exerting trying to install it, I was almost unable to remove it. I reached for my Voightlander back cap to use the nubbins designed to remove these adapters only to find it doesn't fit the cams. You can get 2 of them to align then very carefully put a lot of pressure on the mount and eventually get it to come off, after slipping several times but I'll never mount it again using these adapter.
