This Accelerator Lens Adapter for Canon EF-Mount Lenses to Micro Four Thirds Mount Cameras from Vello allows a full-frame Canon EF-mount lens to be used on a Micro Four Thirds mount camera. The adapter s optics help to maximize the connected lens s angle of view while providing a one-stop increase for the camera over the lens s aperture range. When used with a Panasonic Micro Four Thirds mount camera or camcorder, this adapter s integrated, aperture toggle dial provides clickless stop adjustments that help prevent unwanted noise or vibrations from being recorded while capturing video with sound. The adapter maintains full electronic connectivity between camera and lens to support all electronic functions.

A full-frame Canon EF lens is designed to project an image that is larger than a Micro Four Thirds camera s sensor. Ordinarily, that sensor would only be able capture the center portion of the projected image, creating an in-camera " crop factor." Inside this adapter, four optical elements in four groups condenses the light from the full-frame lens and effectively reduces the crop factor. This also makes available to the sensor an additional one stop of light throughout the lenses aperture range.

Constructed from aluminum alloy, this adapter is durable while remaining lightweight, while an internal, matte black coating minimizes the appearance of reflections within the adapter barrel. To help reduce stress on the camera mount when placed on a tripod, the adapter includes a detachable Arca-type compatible tripod foot with 1/4" -20 threads.
