Viltrox EF-M2 II Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Mount Adapter

I was excited to get this adapter since I have a lot of Canon Glass that I wanted to try on my Olympus bodies with IBIS. Initially, it worked very well and even stabilized some of my non IS lenses, like an old Canon 200mm f/2.8 series 1 non-IS lens. It did not stabilize my Canon 300mm f/4 lens with non-working image stabilization in the lens. I was hoping the IBIS would work as it is one of my favorite lenses. So, I upgraded the firmware on the Viltrox site to EF-M2 II Ver 4 and the adapter stopped working. I have been unable to download an earlier firmware version from the Viltrox site so I'm going to have to return this adapter. When it worked, I liked it a lot!!

It does what is supposed to do, but it isnt the best option. It takes a while to do the infinity focus fix and you may have problems using different focal lenghts or zooms because of that. If you get over that, this thing is perfect. After the painful hour focusing it, it has just work fine. I may think of upgrading to the metabones in the future, but this one is fine.

The good news is, it physically fits on the OMDS OM-1, which has slightly less clearance than for example the OM-D E-M1 Mark II. Many products that fit on the E-M1.2, like Metabones, won't fit on the OM-1. So it's good that it fits -- and it just barely does, with a fraction of a millimeter clearance. But it doesn't work (even with firmware v4.0 which I installed before using). The camera just blinks and freaks out. I tried it on an older PEN E-PL7 and that camera handles the adapter fine, but the OM-1 isn't happy with it. This concerns me... I'm not trying again. I just feel lucky that I didn't fry my multi-thousand-dollar camera, and I won't take that kind of risk again in the future. In my opinion you use this product at your own risk. I wish I'd thought to give myself that advice a week ago, but as far as I can see no harm was done, so I'm wiping my brow and taking a few calming breaths.

I intended to use this for my BMPCC4K to the sigma 18-35 1.8. I saw how expensive the metabones adapter was and did some heavy research for the comparison. I ended up purchasing the viltrox obviously when I got it and tried using it , the adapter was extremely tight and very alarming how hard it was to take back off . Almost to the point where if I would use. But more force it would definitely damage the camera itself . Now as far as for how it functions? It gets the job done .. meaning it looks great for whatever lens you plan on using .. but understand it's full potential isn't being used . In my experience I had to manually focus the lens had a lot of play when attached to the adapter which is not a good feeling when your best lens is being held by a adapter that may or may not come off .. As of now I switched to the metabones adapter and yes it is overpriced in my opinion but I can tell yiy the difference is major and we'll worth it .. sharper , cleaner , no issues at all using straight out the box. If your looking for a adapter for the fraction of the price have the patience for adjusting the infinity focus . Then it's absolutely what you want to go with.. it's not a terrible adapter and it's not the best but it is good.. Hope this helps

They work well and are so much cheaper than metabones. Almost 100% chance that you'll need to adjust the focus on this to reach infinity on your lenses. Theres some youtube videos that explain how. I can't work out why it's not adjusted from the factory?
