FotodioX Metal Bayonet Mount Lens Hood for Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Lens

First off the quality is great. Made of metal, light weight and looks great. It is original bayonet mount, not a cheap screw on filter type hood. It has the little red markings just like original. That being said, it doesn't lock on as tightly as my Sony hood. I don't know how much of a problem that is yet but just by hand it comes loose with less pressure then original. If you put the two side by side the original 55mm F1.8 hood is much deeper top and bottom. So if you are talking about light hitting the lens I don't know if it is any better overall when you take into account all possible directions. Maybe at curtain angles it's better and at other angles it's no better or even worse. I ordered online and hate returning anything so I'll keep it and use it at times along with original. But for the money it costs, if I could go back in time I would not click that complete my order button. If I had no original hood it might be worth a purchase.

You have to wait since this is a item that is normally not in stock but it is worth the wait. Real high quality lens hood that fits perfect on your sony glass. It can come lose from the lens but you just have to make sure you have it all the way locked in and attached all the way and you will be good to go.
