FUJIFILM LH-100 Lens Hood and Adapter Ring for X100/X100S (Silver)

Yes, I get it,80 is kind of ridiculous for a couple of pieces of machined metal. But just try getting a lens hood for a Leica. Anyway, I bit the bullet on this because I didn't like the square hood solutions; they look nice but they all have limitations on the filters you put on. This combo with any 49mm filter will not only make your X100V truly weather resistant, but the hood doesn't get in the way of stacking filters. (I'll probably keep my black pro mist 1/8 on permanently but it's nice to know I can mix & match.) I've seen complaints that the hood doesn't secure well. I do wish that it would lock in place after you twist it -- should've been easy to design and it even looks like it should -- but I've had no issues whatsoever with it slipping off by itself. It's on pretty securely, although taking it in and out of a bag might occasionally loosen it. By the way, as has been noted by others, the stock X100V lens cap doesn't fit this. No great loss IMO, I don't like that cap at all. However, I discovered by chance that a cheap 58mm snap-on lens cap will do the trick. The shape of the hood makes it lock on pretty secure, too. All in all, while it's not a perfect solution (and I really wish this had been included with the camera for what you pay for it!), I definitely think this is still the best way to WR the camera and have flexibility on filters. Besides, I think it looks great, especially in silver because the hood covers up the black filter ring.

Seems a little pricey, but I think its worth it. Both hood and adapter ring are metal and feel solid. The adapter ring provides a solid mounting point for 49mm filters. The hood does a good job deflecting the sun from the lens, while providing additional protection for the lens. It only takes a quarter turn to attach the hood to the adapter ring. I wouldve liked a more solid connection but it seems adequate. Ive had it out on several street photography outings, its been bumped a couple of times without a problem.

OK, let's say it, it's more expensive than the alternative product. Now, that's done!! I bought the NiSi protective filter for my x100V to help ensure moisture protection and act as a lens hood. Then I purchased the WCL100 ii. According to a representative, the only lens hood that will fit the WCL is the LH-100, so I bought that too. The Fuji hood does fit tightly and doesn't fall off. If you use a CPL, the hood has sufficient clearance to allow you to rotate the filter. Yes, if you use the OVF the hood will partially block your view; use the EVF and there's no issue. Of course, the blocking will occur with any rangefinder designed camera. As I wrote, good product, does what it is supposed to do.
